The Power of "I Am"

Things aren't always perfect. As a matter of fact, they never are. We tend to make plans but sometimes life has other things in store and it's hard to see the light of day when you're surrounded by darkness. Faith is said to be the belief in things that are to come; hoping, trusting that everything will work out for the best.
It can be difficult to make your goals a reality when everyone says that you can't or that your idea isn't worth it. It can be even more challenging when you live in a society where it is a norm to fall within a few structured lines.
I'm not always at my best but I am grateful for those moments of happiness and to those persons who are sources of joy within my life.
I recently had the opportunity to watch an interview of Motivational Speaker Lisa Nichols where she spoke of the Power of I Am. She recounted her experience of being in an abusive relationship and her diagnosis of being Clinically Depressed. Upon her diagnosis, she implemented a 30-day strategy of saying "I am".
I am strong.
I am brilliant.
I am beautiful.
I am courageous.
I am worthy.
I am...I am.
If you ever find yourself in a position that you feel unmotivated, depressed or even on the road to self-love this is just the thing you'll need. Of course, it's not a one time cure and like everything else, it will take time. Self-love is one of the best types of love that you can ever experience. You are you for a reason. We all have something to give in this world of ours even though our current circumstances may try to differ.
With every new day take a moment to acknowledge the amazing being that you are. It's okay to start small, even if it means saying one thing that you love about yourself. You might be surprised by the way you will feel as it becomes a daily activity. Use it as your mantra,  write it on post-it notes if you need to. Just know that you deserve to be happy. I implore you to take up the baton; to take control of your life. I challenge you today, and for the next 29 days to implement this into your daily regime.  So let's take a pledge to be the best versions of ourselves that we can possibly be.
Always remember:

  • You are beautiful.
  • You are loved.
  • You are worthy.
